Arts Mark Gold

Awarded by Arts Council England to schools who show a commitment to the full range of arts - music, dance, drama and art & design. Schools can be awarded at ordinary, silver or gold level; only the top schools gain the Gold Award.

Arts College Status

Brentside was the only London school that was successful in gaining this specialist status at the time it applied. Since September 2001 Brentside has been Ealing's centre of excellence in visual arts education.

As a result of the schools excellent CVA Brentside is seen by DCSF as a High Performing Specialist School and as  a result was invited to apply for a second specialism in April 2009.  The school made an informed decision to gain applied learning as its second specialism from September 2009, with a focus on the pedagogy of applied learning and supporting its lead specialism of Visual Arts.
